As a church, we believe in giving and supporting both locally and further afield. We partner with World Vision in a number of ways to engage with the needs in our city, and also of our sister community in Uganda, Lalogi-Lakwana. You can learn more about the community here.
40hr Challenge
Each year the St Paul's Kids take part in the 40hr Challenge. This takes different forms, but in 2024, for example, the kids took part in a tree planting challenge, and planted 40 trees in Unsworth Heights.
Letter Writing
One of the ways we connect with Lalogi-Lakwana is by writing letters to the kids. There are over 50 children in the community who have chosen St Paul's families to connect with them via letter.
Chosen
As a St Paul's family, we've taken part in World Vision's Chosen initiative several times, and now have over 70 families, individuals and small groups signed up to sponsor a child in Lalogi-Lakwana.
In 2023, Donald Fawkner (who was our Families Leader at the time), had the opportunity to visit Lalogi-Lakwana for the Chosen event.
