FAMILIES

Kids learn by doing! Exploring through our five senses, connecting with each other,
and growing in faith lie at the heart of St Paul’s Families Ministry.

Our St Paul's Preschoolers are wrapped up in love, fun, creativity and familiarity at the 10am service.  The early faith development of our smallest church members is a vital part of our family ministry.

If you want to find out more about St Paul's Preschool, we'd love to hear from you!

Tiny Stars (0-1 years)

Free play and morning tea in a bright and safe environment for our
under-2-year-olds.

Sparklers (2 - 3 1/2 years)

Our Sparklers group enjoy free play, morning tea, a bible story, worship and prayer time.

Rockets (3 1/2 - 4 years)

A structured session including mat time, morning tea, and a craft activity.

Parent Room

A room for parents and baby to settle with a change table and a speaker to hear the service.
Term-wide themes capture the kids’ imaginations and ignite faith conversations that they carry into their week. Rotating through Creative Sunday, Games Sunday, Group Sunday, Mission Sunday, and Worship Sunday, our fun and engaging activities create inclusive and supportive Sundays for our kids.

For more information about St Paul's Kids, please contact our Families Ministry leader, Donald Fawkner.

Salt

Our Salt group bridges the transition between preschool and primary age. Salt kids experience activities carefully tailored to their age, with nurturing leaders to make Sundays a highlight of their week.

Blaze | Spark | Fusion | Flame

Once the kids turn seven they join one of our main groups. These are mixed primary-age groups. Each group has dedicated leaders whose Sunday input supports parents in discipling their children.

Whānau Events

Once a term, we have a Families Ministry event.

These are fun, family-focused events that help bring the kids and parents together.

These range from our church picnic, Families Barn Dance, World Vision 40hr famine challenge and our Halloween alternative: the St Paul’s Families Carnival.

All these events create a fun place to bring friends and connect as families.

Ignite School Holiday Programme

This is not your run-of-the-mill babysitting holiday programme! Our Ignite Holiday Programme aims to engage, excite and ignite the kids who attend. We not only have a lot of fun (Engage), but we do a range of activities (Excite) and build into the kids' faith (Ignite). This all happens through games, crafts, experiments, challenges, baking, and creative stories. On top of that, food is provided!

The Ignite Holiday Programme happens in the first week of the school holidays, after terms 1, 2 and 3. Numbers are limited, and spots will open up in the weeks prior to the holidays.

1:1 Camp

The 1:1 Camp is an opportunity for parents to help their kids grow in their faith. The camp is a basic overnight camping experience, and all the activities are focused on one parent and one child.

During the camp, we facilitate opportunities for parents to share their own faith and why they go to church, and enable the kids to ask questions.

It’s a fantastic experience that makes a big difference in our kids' faith journey. 1:1 Camps happen in early March.
For more information about any of these events, please contact Donald.
Join our Kids Ministry leader, Donald, and the team on our St Paul’s Kids YouTube channel. These videos are full of creative, fun stories for pre-school and primary aged kids, craft activities, and our online nativity production.

Donald also produces a monthly video clip called Faith Hacks. This is a short video clip for ideas for equipping parents to build into their kid’s faith journey.
