Born in a Wellington gale and raised in sunny Auckland, I spent most of my tertiary and first working years within just a few miles of St Paul’s. Gripped by wanderlust, my wife Esther and I left the land of the long white cloud for the land of the never-ending grey cloud, living for 10 years in the UK. I’ve had a varied career, working in both law and investment banking before becoming a pastor at St Mary’s Church in London. After studying theology at Regent College, Vancouver, I returned home to become part of the leadership team at St Paul’s. Esther and I have three children, Ruby, Theo and Neva and we are now part of a top secret US-military experiment into the effects of extreme sleep deprivation. I’ve also written a book entitled "Divine Sex: A Compelling Vision for Christian Relationships in a Hypersexualised Age".
