I run the primary-aged kids ministry here at St Paul’s. I’m originally from Taranaki where I was a youth and kids minister, and I moved up to Auckland in 2003 to study and ply my trade as an outdoor and physical education teacher with a focus on mentoring and using teachable moments. So, unsurprisingly, I love to rock climb, sea kayak, tramp, and take my family on adventures big and small. If you’re with me outdoors you’ll find I love to stop and explain what a native tree is and what you can do with it, and what that bird noise was. I also cook a mean feed over a fire. My wife Victoria and I have two kids, Brooke and Nate, as well as our red Border Collie Poppy (who licks a lot). St Paul’s has been our church home since 2007 and I joined the staff team as children’s ministry leader in 2017. I am passionate about helping kids journey in their faith in a meaningful way. email donald
