In 1849 the Rev J F Lloyd arrived in NZ in 1853 he would become the second vicar of St Paul’s. Here were some of his first impressions: “With a climate highly favourable to vegetation and to the health of man, with noble harbours and a rich soil well watered, with magnificent forests containing inexhaustible supplies of timber, and scenery scarcely inferior in picturesque effect to that of the most favoured parts of Europe… New Zealand can scarcely fail to become, when her resources are properly developed, one of the most prosperous and most delightful countries in the world, and her people one of the healthiest and most vigorous of the human race.”

Just when we all finally got the hang of the exit code for the Wilson’s carpark, the system has been upgraded and the code is no longer needed. A swipe card is now required to get out of the carpark after 9pm on weeknights or 10pm on Sundays. This means that if you are attending a midweek event you will need to get swiped out of the carpark by the event host as the gates close automatically at 9pm. We have the best negotiators and have made every effort to push the time out, but you can’t fight city hall!
